David Womack - Founder /Wilderness Guide / Program Developer

David Womack is the founder of Rhythms of Nature and Rewild Outfitters, and a lifelong student of the land. Raised in the woods and mentored by his grandfather, he learned early how to hunt, track, and move through the natural world with respect and awareness. Those early teachings became the foundation for a life centered around self-reliance, resilience, and connection. With over a decade of experience as a first responder, David developed the ability to stay calm under pressure, make critical decisions, and lead in high-stakes situations. Today, those skills carry into his work in remote wilderness environments where awareness and adaptability matter. David has spent years living and learning in wild places, including time in the Peruvian Amazon working alongside Indigenous communities. There, he supported clean water and land-based projects while deepening his understanding of traditional lifeways and survival as a way of living, not just a skillset. He now lives off-grid at a riverside basecamp along the Dosewallips River in Washington, where he builds, hunts, forages, and teaches throughout the year. Seasonally, he works in Alaska in remote backcountry settings, sawmilling cabins and guiding in rugged terrain. For over seven years, David has led wilderness immersions, rites of passage, and ancestral skills programs. His approach is hands-on and grounded, focused on helping people build real skills, reconnect with the land, and step back into a more rooted way of living. As a husband and father, his work is driven by purpose. He is committed to living what he teaches and creating spaces where others can rediscover their connection to the natural world.
